A cult project, largely unnoticed by the masses, 'Andy Bell is Torsten' is a collective of a world class singer, an award winning poet / songwriter and a multi-genre musical composer. Established in 2013, Andy Bell, together with Barney Ashton-Bullock and Christopher Frost have fused the worlds of pop, poetry & musical theatre headed up by Andy Bell playing the alter-ego 'Torsten' who is a semi-immortal, polysexual doomed to love many, but lose them all. The collective have released to date (2020) three studio albums, 'Torsten The Bareback Saint' (2014), 'Torsten The Beautiful Libertine (2016) & 'Torsten In Queereteria' (2019) as well as three remix albums, 'Variance I' (2015), 'Variance II' (2016) & 'Variance III' (2019). The 'Variance' albums put an electronic, pop, or dancefloor spin on selected tracks from the main albums and they also include more experimental songs exclusive to them. The 'Torsten The Bareback Saint' theatre show (1st performance, 2014) played at the Saint James Theatre (London), Assembly (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Shelley Theatre (Bournemouth) and opened the Manchester Queer Contact Festival. The 'Torsten The Beautiful Libertine' theatre show (1st performance, 2016) played at the Above The Stag Theatre (London) as did 'Queereteria TV' (1st performance, 2019) which was the theatre show that accompanied the 'Torsten In Queereteria' album.
