Hi all, I'm excited to announce that Season 2 of the Beauty at Work podcast launches on June 1st. We're going to be expanding beyond our focus on beauty in science to look at the role of beauty in other domains of work such as business, architecture, hospitality, food, and more. We're also going to continue to look at dimensions of the beauty of science such as art-science collaboration. We've got some great episodes planned but we're also taking suggestions for future episodes. What topics and guests would you like to see featured on the show? Let me know in the comments!

What is beauty? How does it work? And why does it matter for the work that we do?
I'm Brandon Vaidyanathan, and I'm a professor of sociology at The Catholic University of America in Washington DC.
We tend to reduce beauty to cosmetics or fashion. Or restrict it to high art. But there's much more to beauty than that. Beauty is how reality attracts us. And whether we like it or not, beauty shapes our lives in countless ways.
In this channel, I want to expand our understanding of beauty.
Through interviews with experts from diverse fields, this channel examines how beauty works -- how it shapes our personal, social, and spiritual lives in ways that may both contribute to and impede our flourishing.
What we learn here will help us to better harness the potential for beauty to contribute to our flourishing, while avoiding its perils and pitfalls.
