Speed Endurance sucks until you understand this...

We've analyzed the programs of 400+ in just the last 12 months and here is one of the most common mistakes:

Doing Speed Endurance at the beginning of the week.

If you exhaust your body on Monday, you will unlikely hit Top Speed later in the week.

This isn't a theory or something we read in a book.

Our club's Coach Wyndell is an Olympian with 30+ years of experience. Together we coach hundreds of athletes worldwide using science and objective data.

Some of the tools we use in person are a GPS system and Freelap which allows us to measure speed in real time.

Unless you are a freak of nature, Speed Endurance at the beginning of the week will decrease your ability to run fast later that week by 5-10% at minimum for the majority of individuals.

The solution is simple, focus on quality "Pure Speed" training at the beginning of the week, and save the complex exhausting stuff for later in the week.

If you'd like to learn more, remember this Sunday, August 11th we will be having a private call inside the Sprint Club with an Olympic Gold Medalist in the 400H.

WOW! It’s been a crazy day of Olympic races today.

The male 200m finals and the female 400 mH finals have been my favorite races this week without a question.

Congratulations to Letsile Tebogo and Sydney McLaughlin on their amazing performances today.

Speaking of the Olympics, since we are talking to 400mH Olympic Gold Medalist Derrick Adkins this Sunday, what questions should we ask him?

P.S. He will join us for a 30-minute conversation inside the Sprint Club app so you DON’T want to be late.

How Andrew O'Donnells 40-yard improved his 400m From 50.3 to 47.4

Wyndell coached him from 50.3 to 47.4 in the 400 meters in high school to take fourth place at nationals.

During this time, he broke his school record for both the 200m and 400m.
Not too many people would consider improving their 40 as a way to drop their 400, but that's exactly what they did.

Wyndell had Andrew do short-distance speed work in that process.

He dropped his 40-yard dash from 4.7 to 4.47.

He also dropped his 100m time from 11.19 to 10.64 hand-timed 10.90 fully automatic.

If that seems unusual look at Wayde Wan Niekerk's 100m splits and notice that as his 100m time dropped so did his 400m.

We are not saying this is a magic bullet for everyone, this is simply what worked for Andrew. If you run the 200 and 400m do not overlook the importance of short distance speed.

Join us inside the Sprint Club this Sunday, August 11th to learn more from Wyndell and Olympic Gold Medalist Derrek Adkins.

Last Olympics I was making youtube videos talking about the Olympians.

This time, we have Olympians on our coaching team.

Join us this Sunday August 11th, 4pm EST inside the Sprint Club app for a special coaching call with Derek Adkins.

Derrek Adkins is an Olympic Gold Medalist in the 400m Hurdles.

He's busy running the Cental Park Track Club and the reason we were able to book him is that he grew up with the Sprint Club's head speed coach Wyndell Dickinson who himself is an Olympian.

If you're a member, you can RSVP your spot now, this is 100% free with your membership.

If you're not a member you can learn more here: www.sprintclub.co
