A night to remember✨

Last night saw Sir Antonio Pappano open the concert with Berlioz' sparkling Roman Carnival before we welcomed pianist extraordinaire Yuja Wang to perform Rachmaninoff's First Piano Concerto after which she encored with Mendelssohn's Lieder ohne Worte.

Then, after the interval we had the brilliant Anna Lapwood on stage making her LSO debut with Saint-Saëns Symphony No 3, ‘Organ Symphony’.

If you joined us pre-concert you would have seen our LSO Create Musicians performing their own work London Carnival in the Barbican foyers.

Let us know if you were there!⬇️

Today sees the second release in our new series of Spatial Audio remasters, Bruckner’s Symphony No 9!

200 years after his birth we honour Bruckner’s final work, his unfinished 9th Symphony. With three movements written over a 10-year period, this piece reflects the composer’s deep sense of faith and leaves us with a feeling of resolution and solace. Renowned Bruckner interpreter Bernard Haitink conducted this acclaimed recording, so head to your streaming platform to enjoy it in the depth and clarity of Spatial Audio.

Which is your favourite Bruckner Symphony? Tell us below!

Last night was out of this world🪐

For Sir Antonio Pappano's second concert as Chief Conductor we were delighted to welcome Vilde Frang to perform Elgar's lyrical and expansive Violin Concerto. Then we headed out to our solar system in Holst's mighty The Planets.

If you joined us in the Barbican Centre foyers pre-concert you would have seen some of our LSO Pathways and LSO Musicians performing music by Boccherini, Gert and Zaragoza.

Let us know if you were there⬇️
