another goal checked off my bucket list
Ever since I embarked on my etiquette journey, it was my dream to visit the oldest etiquette school still standing in the world Institut Villa Pierrefeu founded in 1954 by
Dorette Faillettaz, the mother of the current principal Madame Néri.
I mentioned about IVP in the opening chapter of my first book « Etiquette: the least you need to know.» Back then I sent a copy of my book to IVP along with an email expressing my hopes to one day make a visit to the school. IVP meant for me what Hogwarts would for Harry Potter lovers.
A few of my followers and personal students have also taken courses in IVP based on my referrals. It felt weird that I never been to the school myself whilst I highly recommended it to those who wanted to get an in-depth knowledge of the subject. This year, the school kindly extended an invitation to me to be a guest at their 5-day «European Art of Dining» course and asked me to do a presentation on Azerbaijani Traditions and Etiquette. What a delight!
For those who know me personally or have been following me on YouTube or Instagram know how much I love promoting my country’s rich culture and traditions with the world. So it was a true dream come true: attend IVP and do a lecture on Azerbaijan ❤️
So many beautiful memories made, insights gained, new knowledge acquired and spectacular views observed. It was an incredible experience! Thank you @ivpworld for your generous hospitality and for being the « landmark » of etiquette.
