It's happening AGAIN! We're gearing up to produce an ENTIRE SEASON of Keynes vs. Hayek style rap battles across an even broader range of topics. And we want to hear YOUR STORY about how these videos impacted your life.

As we dig into research, we're looking for stories about how our Keynes vs. Hayek and Mises vs. Marx videos have impacted your life and thinking. We've heard incredible stories from 4th grade book reports, to high school talent show performances, to high school and college teachers showing them to thousands of students.

Now, I want to hear from YOU my dear friends. Send us your story on the link below. Shoot a selfie to share how these videos found you and impacted you, how you use them in your classroom, or with your kids. You'll be helping us make more! And the best stories will get shout-outs on our channels. - John Papola

Check out the latest episode of Dad Saves America, featuring "Keynes vs. Hayek" co-creator, Russ Roberts!

For those of you unfamiliar with the story, I (John Papola, host of Dad Saves America) learned of Russ after listening to his popular podcast, EconTalk, which sent me down the economics rabbit-hole. This led to an unlikely collaboration between me, a filmmaker, and Russ, economist. In 2010, “Fear the Boom and Bust: Keynes vs. Hayek” debuted on YouTube and became an overnight internet sensation. It was the first viral rap battle of its kind, predating the popular "Epic Rap Battles Of History" by over 8 months. This project ended up changing the course of my career, eventually leading to Dad Saves America.

In this episode of Dad Saves America, I talk to my good friend about out shared passions of economics, storytelling, Adam Smith, and emergent order.

Hi, John Papola here. If you're reading this, it's probably because of our Keynes vs. Hayek rap videos. We created those videos to provide a fun alternative to the mainstream economics story being told in school and the news media. Over a decade ago, after these videos first went viral, I left my job at Spike TV along with my wife Lisa and best friend Josh to start Emergent Order. We started the company as a for-profit production company and created LOTS of work with clients who care about the future of American freedom. Those videos, including the Mises vs. Marx rap video, have usually appeared on other YouTube channels as a result of our business model.

Two years ago, I started work on a new vision for Emergent Order as a non-profit studio that creates original videos like Keynes vs. Hayek dedicated to celebrating American freedom and the potential it unlocks in each of us. This new model empowers us to focus on creating new content on our own channels on a regular basis. Now, that vision has become a reality with the launch of our first new channel, Dad Saves America.

I created the Keynes vs. Hayek videos with Russ Roberts because, as a new dad at the time, I was very worried about our country's future in the aftermath of the financial crisis. That concern took me down an economics rabbit hole of epic proportions. In the past few years, I've come to realize that free markets and a free society depend on new generations DEMANDING freedom. And as dads, we play an important and undervalued role in preparing our kids to live in a free society... and want one. Please check it out and subscribe.

And yes, the new Emergent Order Foundation WILL produce more rap videos. For sure. I'm thinking Ehrlich vs. Simon is the next one... but more on that later...
