Hey guys, just a quick update. This channel will be going on hiatus for about a month as I will be on vacation. I've got one more video coming maybe either tomorrow or the day after. After that, I'll see you in March.

It has been brought to my attention that there have been people over at a certain four letter television forum slandering the various server partners of Broadcast Plaza, who I consider to my dear friends and myself. I do not wish to participate in petty drama, but unfortunately I have been dragged into it.
To address some of the points brought forth: coordination exists between the server partners to create a consistent brand. We as a collective are not responsible for what other partners post. And no, @Studio31MediaArchive does not exercise control over Broadcast Plaza or over any of the server partners. Ownership of the server belongs to @ShaqC since October 2023.
There are many of their staff member present on our server. They could have addressed their concerns directly to the staff, but they have not done so at any point prior to this incident.
If you are the person who's making the slanderous allegations, I don't care if you don't believe what we have to say. This is the full truth on our end.
This will be my one and final statement on the matter.

On this day 15 years ago, I uploaded the first video to my channel because I wanted to preserve an ad that I liked at that time. Little did I know that I would keep uploading videos, at first preserving video content from the dying TV.Vancouver GeoCities website. Then moving on to my own captures, from an SD capture card and finally moving onto high quality HD captures, radio airchecks, bandscans and news open montages and much more.
It's been an amazing 15 years that I get to spend with you guys and I couldn't have done it without your support. I will have a special video coming out soon celebrating this milestone. I will also have a special video for reaching 4,000 subscribers. Stay tuned and thank you for making Emarsee the #1 channel for Canadian news archival content.

❗ CHANNEL UPDATE
It's definitely been a while since I've uploaded a newscast montage and I intend to light the spark to change that.
Earlier this year I planned on capturing all of the current local CTV News opens, and I have successfully finished that goal. I may have jumped the gun a bit, as it looks like there have been zero new signs of a package refresh coming any time soon.
My current plan is to update all of the Global News montages that I haven't updated yet (i.e. CIII Toronto, CITV Edmonton and CICT Calgary). I'm also opening up the montages to all of Canada, instead of just focusing on three regions, which I felt has gotten a bit repetitive.
My current plan is to do these montages:

If all goes well, the first updated montage should go up by the end of the month. Whenever I get 4,000 subscribers I intend to release a special montage, so stay tuned.

🚨Major cuts to CTV2 Vancouver Island
This hasn't been reported as much, but the latest round of Bell Media cuts has decimated CTV2 Vancouver Island.
The 5 PM and 6 PM newscasts have both been axed. In its place, a "hyper-local" newscast will air at 4:30 PM and anchored by alumni Andrew Johnson from CTV Vancouver. The station will simulcast CTV News Vancouver at 5 and rerun the 4:30 PM newscast at 6 PM. Corner Gas will at 6:30 PM.
The schedule currently shows a local newscast airing at 11 PM, but it is unknown if it is live (presumably from Vancouver) or a rerun of the 4:30 PM newscast. In any case, that means no newscasts will be produced from Victoria.
In addition, Jordan Cunningham and Anna McMillan, anchors of the 5 PM newscasts have both been let go. Weather anchor Warren Dean and Comox Valley VJ Gord Kubis have also been let go. Amber Schinkel, anchor of the former 6 PM newscast remains at the station, but has been reassigned.

❗ CHANNEL UPDATE
CTV News Channel just launched a new graphics package, and I'm assuming that the local and national CTV newscasts aren't too far behind. I will be taking a temporary pause on all other content (except for the new CISA/Global Lethbridge graphics I haven't posted yet) and focusing on capturing and uploading the current (i.e. old graphics) for the CTV stations.
If CTV does not change anything by the time I have finished uploading everything, the regular content you see on this channel will continue. If CTV does get a new package, I will mainly be focused on capturing the new graphics, as I have been doing with the new Global package. Everything else will unfortunately be delayed.

❗ CHANNEL UPDATE
A quick update for this channel going forward in 2023: I'm completely revamping the order in which my news open montages are done. To reduce the number of videos I need to update, I will mostly be focusing on Global, Citytv and independently-owned stations in 2023, with the exception of CFPL since so many people have asked about it. If CTV or CBC updates their graphics, I will resume the production of montages for these stations.
I've been feeling rather burnt out in 2022, especially with work and life in general, so videos haven't been coming out as often as I'd like, and I don't really see that changing much in 2023. I do plan on getting at least one news open montage out a month, but no promises.
I also plan on getting though my queue of old videos I've recorded (some of which are almost a year old). Until I've gone through most of the queue, I won't be recording anything new, unless it's a graphics update or something interesting.
I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and I'm wishing you all the best in 2023.

🎬NEWS MONTAGE UPDATE
As you've probably seen, Global News has just recently adopted new graphics. Some of you have been asking questions on where my Global News open montages are.
The montages have been pulled until I have the chance to update the montages. This includes the montages for Global BC, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, BC1 and Global National.
They will all be updated in due time.
Here is my current plan, including the previously promised station on my to-do list.

The home for historical television presentation and newscast opens for Southern British Columbia, Western Washington, and around the rest of Canada. I am hosting the TV Vancouver (tvvancouver.cjb.net/) files on YouTube with permission from the owner of TVYVR, Hinto. The clips disappeared on October 26, 2009 when GeoCities (host of the TVYVR files) became defunct.
