Welcome to The Covered Caller!
I've been obsessed with options ever since the time I bought calls in American Airlines in the late '80s. I remember when commissions on options were hundreds of dollars. I recall options being so illiquid that they might be bid at 3 and asked at 4.50. You could drive a truck through options spreads in the '80s and '90s. The internet age helped bring about the golden age of retail option trading—well, that and the dude who wears a beret and his buddies that brought us ThinkorSwim. ThinkorSwim started to level the playing field in the options game. The next big thing was free (and basically free) commissions; these really helped the retail trader compete. And then, of course, we all caught Covid and got six months off work to learn about options. Now, you can't go anywhere without hearing about options. There are many YouTube channels that trade options live and talk about options all day and night. The golden age is upon us!
