Urgh. The most viewed video on my channel, 8 IMPORTANT Composition Tips for Better Photos (with over 3M views) has been taken down for 'violating guidelines'. A Sally Mann image I used (not even a controversial one, kids wearing clothes) apparently "endangers the emotional and physical well-being of minors". I have no idea why. I spent the afternoon talking to different people at YouTube. They just kept quoting their policy at me. I told them I understood their policy on not sexualising or showing nude children and was fully on-board with it. But what I didn't understand was how the image I showed violated the guidelines.
I've re-uploaded the video without the Sally Mann shot, + some new content and re-edits. Please feel free to watch and comment under it so I can try to regain some of the traction I had previously.
New video coming very soon, anyway. A few more days of editing, then it'll be uploaded.

Update: Claim has been released. Looks like they're declining to escalate this one to court.
Good news for me, but it's bad that people abuse copyright systems in this way. For someone else who might not have the means to call their bluff and challenge them to sue, these people could just be stealing their ad revenue.
Now, back to making my next video. God damn these distractions!

So Concord Music Publishing have upheld their copyright claim against me and I have lost the dispute. Music For the Funeral of Queen Mary by Henry Purcell is a 17th Century piece of music and is therefore in the public domain. I made my own recording of it and therefore have infringed on no-one's copyrights.
This is not over. I'm done being screwed over by copyright abusers and scammers.

Oh, YouTube and your copyright bots! My latest video has got a Copyright Claim because my own recording of Henry Purcell’s Music For the Funeral of Queen Mary (which was composed in 1695 and is therefore in the public domain) has been claimed by some music company (who have also recorded a version of this track). A tad ironic given the subject of the video.

Apple, thank you for returning my MagSafe port, my SD card reader and my function keys to my MacBook. Now just return the headphone port you took from my iPhone and we’ll say no more about it.

This isn't me, by the way. My name is 'Jamie Windsor', not 'Text me on Telegram' and I have a grey tick by my name. This is a scam. Just report it. I don't even know what Telegram is.

Have a great Christmas to all who celebrate it. I'll be back early in 2022 with 2 new videos: A new photographic video essay, and a new and improved set of Retro Assets for Premiere Pro (as well as a new Premiere Pro tutorial). See you all in the new year.

UPDATE:
I have recently moved house, and I also have a few other personal things going on at the moment. I've just finished setting up my new studio and there will be lots more videos to come soon, but there's going to be a small break for a few weeks.
In the meantime, if you want to hear me ramble on about myself for way too long, you can check out this Phoblographer interview with me:

Or alternatively, watch some of my older videos like this one about the mental state of 'flow'.

Nice to see my Kodachrome presets getting a mention on The Phoblographer’s site today. This Kodachrome Project sounds interesting.

My channel is all about photography related tips, reviews and techniques. I aim to create video content that doesn't already exist on YouTube. I also try to focus on teaching the art of photography rather than being an overly gear-heavy channel.
You can support me on Patreon if you like what I'm doing and want to see more of it.
